Currently Offering Remote Teletherapy via Video or Phone

F.A.Q.

  • My standard sessions are 50-minutes.

  • I recommend having sessions weekly, at least to start off with. Frequency of therapy can change based on client’s personal preference and based on treatment plan.

  • My fee starts at $150 per session; however, I do offer a sliding scale

  • A sliding scale is a reduced fee, often based on the client's ability to pay based on income. I have a certain amount of spots I designate for a sliding fee. I like to work with my clients to come to a more manageable price for therapy, which allows for more people to have access to therapy.

  • I do not accept insurance at this time. However, I am able to provide monthly Super Bills upon request. Super Bills can be submitted by the client to their insurance companies for reimbursement. Clients can check with their insurance companies regarding out of network reimbursement.

  • Currently, all sessions are video sessions.

  • I require clients to give 24-hours’ notice to avoid having to pay the full fee of the session. Canceling with lack of adequate notice (24 hours), keeps me from being able to schedule another client in that spot.

  • Starting therapy can be an intimidating process. I strive to make starting therapy as comfortable as possible for each client. Because each client is different, goals for therapy and structure of therapy are individualized. Typically, a first session begins with a more structured assessment to better understand your background and current struggles. This is also an opportunity to identify your goals for therapy.

Based on your specific needs, therapy can be short-term, (working through a particular problem) or long term (working through difficult patterns or for more personal development). You will get the most out of therapy if you are active, open, honest and engaging in the therapy process. Therapy is about not only doing the work in session, but outside of session, as well. I might suggest things to work on outside of session or give homework assignments.

  • Confidentially between the client and therapist is one of the most important parts of the therapeutic relationship. Successful therapy requires trust. I provide each of my clients with a written “informed consent” document, which outlines privacy and confidentiality.

However, state law and professional ethics require therapists to maintain confidentiality except for the following situations:

    • Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse.

    • If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s, I must notify the police and inform the intended victim.

    • If a client intends to harm himself or herself, I will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in ensuring their safety. If they do not cooperate, I will take further measures without their permission that are provided to me by law in order to ensure their safety.
